My sympathy to the Neils family. Irmi was a beautiful person and a good friend to those around her. Now she and Ursula can frolick together forever.  Sorry I can’t see you all on November 1.  Gordon and I leave foe Florida that day. I will be thinking of you. 

I was lucky enough to get to know Irmie through my longtime friendship with Kris, Bill and Scott.   I was immediately taken by her beautiful smile and charming personality.   The first time I drove Irmie to Charlevoix to spend time on Beaver Island,  I was treated to an entire trip's worth of what I now call "Irmie's Tales".   I was mesmerized by her incredible storytelling abilities - - from her time as a young girl in Germany to the adventures of creating a new life here in Michigan.   Over the years we had more trips to the Island, one to Florida and we attended many wonderful plays together at the Wharton Center.   But my most memorable moments were those that I spent with her at the kitchen table - - gazing out the picture window into "Irmie's world of Nature."   She taught me about so many things and for that I'm forever grateful.   My sincere condolences to her wonderful family - thank you for sharing her with me.

Growing up I always considered Irmi my second Mom.  It seemed she was always in the mix when the kids were playing and having fun.  So many great memories of growing up with the Neils family and Irmi.  To the siblings and grandkids, she was so proud of all of you.  Wishing you all peace and comfort through all this.  Sending sympathies to all.  Watch for those silent "little kisses" that come out of the blue and enjoy them.  Much love to you all.  Irmi will be missed.
