John Clinton Patterson

Okemos, formerly of Lansing

Age 86, born October 5, 1928 in Lansing Michigan died April 5, 2015. He was a retired sheet metal worker and car trader enthusiast. He was predeceased by his wife Evelyn, son Stephen (Roxie), brothers Neal John Patterson and Paul Breese. He is survived by sons Neal, John (Donna), Jeffrey, daughter Penny, sister, Sue Cross (Joe), grandchildren Jill Munk (Bruce), Julie Lockwood (Corey), John Patterson (Jennifer), Bria Bare (Joe) and Sherry Swanson (Billy), 14 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

He was a great provider for his wife and children, and a great brother/father figure to his sister Sue. He was an excellent mechanic and taught his children to work hard and that a “job worth doing is worth doing right”. Until his final days he was also a devoted caregiver to his son Jeffrey.

John’s home was always filled with family and friends, who enjoyed the fun card games on Friday and Saturday nights. He was greatly loved and will be missed.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 8, 2015, 2:00 pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 East Grand River Avenue, East Lansing. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
