John Francis Penoyer Sr.

Age 77, went home to be with the Lord on December 12, 2012. John was born on November 13, 1935. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1953 to 1956. John was a beloved member of The Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Nola Penoyer; his daughter, Christine Penoyer and son, John Penoyer, Jr. He is survived by his children Donnelda (Geoffrey) Yelinek, Laura Clark, Douglas Penoyer and Howard Penoyer as well as 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. John served for 33 years as a truck driver for General Motors as well as 30 years as committee man. The family wishes to give special recognition to their adopted grandson, Steven Martin. A funeral service celebrating John’s life will be held at The Church of the Latter Day Saints, 431 E. Saginaw, East Lansing on Monday, December 17, at 11:00 a.m.. The family will receive friends at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 E. Grand River Ave., East Lansing, MI on Sunday, December 16th from 3-5pm and 6-8pm and one hour prior to the service at the church.
