John Bradford Shinkle

“Big John” was an avid outdoorsman with a passion for hunting and fishing. He grew up in Temperance, MI, was a member of FFA, Samaria Chapter of DeMolay, and worked alongside his father in the Shinkle Family Greenhouse. He served many farmers in Shiawassee, Ingham, and Eaton counties for nearly 60 years as an Agronomist.

Preceding John in death are his parents; his son, Jon Ellis Shinkle; and son-in-law, LeRoy Davis. He is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Jinni Shinkle; daughters, Stephani Davis (special friend Steve Dunn), Gretchen Sharp (special friend Brian Brown); grandchildren Dallas Davis, Justin (Ciarra) Halbrook, Ashlea Sharp and sister Janet Moody.

Funeral services will take place at 11:00 am Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2016 at Grace United Methodist Church, 1900 Boston Blvd, Lansing, MI with a visitation one hour prior to the service. The family will receive visitors and friends from 5-8 pm Tuesday at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 E. Grand River Ave, East Lansing, MI.
