

Joseph Martin Post, age 88, a man of faith and a long-time resident of Lansing died peacefully February 14, 2016 after an extended illness. He was born in Grand Rapids April 13, 1927 to Ambrose and Cleo (Weber) Post, deceased. He was preceded in death by his wife Joellen Gale Post in 2009.
He was a beloved brother and uncle to his siblings and nieces; Kathryn J. Post, Ruth L. Post, Grand Rapids; David P. (Lois) Post, Bethlehem, PA and Esther J. (George) Erhart, Rockford. Nieces; Betsy L. (Stephen) Diamond, Barrington, IL; Debra A. Livingston, Fair Haven, NJ and Karen S. (Alden) Sanchez, Denver, CO. He is also survived by grand nieces and nephews; Dustin Diamond, Elisabeth Diamond, Natalie Livingston, David Livingston, Isabella Sanchez and by a sister-in-law Valerie (Andrew) Watson of Midland, step-children Scott (Janice) Gale of VA and Kathy (Cole) Brown of DeWitt and step-grandsons Gale Brown and Gregory Brown.
Educated for eight years in a one room school, he graduated from Comstock Park High School and Michigan Technological University. He served in the U.S. Army of Occupation in Germany following WWII.
He was one of three founders of Roberts Corp. in Lansing serving as Vice-President of Sales, Executive Vice-President, President and CEO. Roberts Corp. became Roberts Sinto and he was President and CEO until retirement in 1991.
He was a strong supporter of Mich Tech serving as president of the Central Michigan Alumni Chapter, was a Lifetime Trustee of the MTU Fund and an inductee into the Civil and Environmental Engineering Academy.
He was active in community affairs serving as president of the Sales and Marketing Executives of Lansing and president of the Casting Industry Suppliers Association. He was treasurer of the local Habitat for Humanity and a director of Delta Township Economic Development. He was a long time active member of River Terrace Church serving as an Elder, Vice-President of the Church Council and Pastor of Congregational Care.
He was an avid supporter of MSU sports and a 50-year season ticket holder for football and basketball. He was a Master Gardener, a golfer and a skillful sailor. He enjoyed many summers at the family cottage and sailing on Crystal Lake, Beulah.
We are deeply grateful for the devoted care of Joe during his illness from his church family: Erv, Karen, Dot, Char and several others and also by Andrea, a dear friend and neighbor.
Joe leaves a legacy of personal and professional accomplishments. He will be missed by all who knew him especially his family.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Saturday, February 20, 2016 at River Terrace Church, 1509 River Terrace, East Lansing with Rev. Kenneth Bieber officiating.
