Julie was born on July 11, 1949 in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
She married Michael Breen, her beloved husband of almost 50 years on July 17, 1970. Julie was the loving mother of two children, Ericka and Cory. Julie was also loved by her son-in-law, Eric and her daughter-in-law, Wendy. Three of her greatest joys in life were her grandchildren. Alexis, Nolan and Taylor will miss her beyond measure.
Julie received her Nursing degree from Butterworth School of Nursing. She spent her career as a neonatal nurse where, for many years, she cared for the smallest of infants with the same love and compassion that she showed all those around her. Along the way, many of her colleagues became very special friends.
Julie had the ability to love like no other. Her love for her family and her devotion to them was overwhelming. Her kindness knew no boundaries. Julie was the listening ear when you needed to talk. She was your number one fan when you needed cheering on. She gave the tightest hugs when you needed support.
She was a lover of all animals, especially her beloved Yorkies and her grandpuppies. She loved nature and all that it encompassed. The warmth of the sun, the sound of the waves of Lake Michigan and the gentle buzz of hummingbirds all brought her joy. Please remember her when you see things in life that remind you of her. Remember her smile and her warm touch. This will be the greatest memoriam.
Julie loved the Lord Jesus above all and it is with peace that we know she is with her Savior. She will be dearly missed and forever loved by her family and all those whose lives she touched in her very special way.
A Celebration of Life is being planned for a later date.
A fund will be established in her name that will allow people who could not otherwise be afforded the benefits of Cardiac Rehabilitation at Sparrow Hospital.
