

He was raised in Evart, graduated in 1951, enlisted in the Navy Reserves and was transferred to the army where he was stationed in Berlin during the Korean War. He worked in the grounds crew at MSU before opening his own landscaping business.
LaVern was diligent, hardworking and always singing. He was a Boy Scout leader for 35 plus years in Bath, loved camping and singing bluegrass at jams.
He was preceded in death by his wife Lilli Else Lambert; sister, Ruth Klinesteker; and brother, Duane Lambert.
Surviving are his daughter Michelle (Daniel) Bellmore; sons Dean (Pam) Lambert and Victor (Sheila) Lambert; six grandchildren Deanna, Sandra Lambert, Thomas Brown, Nicholas Lambert, Angie Partlo and Rudolph Tessman; many great-grandchildren; sisters Cheri Heck, Alice Chilcote, Mary Ann Nietz, Mable Cole; brother Jim Lambert, and many friends.
Funeral Services will be held 12:00 p.m. Monday, February 23, 2015 at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 East Grand River Avenue, East Lansing, MI 48823. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
