

Leland "Lee" R. Crum, age 97, passed away September 4, 2017. Born in Breckenridge, MI August 22, 1920 to the late Leland and Miriam Crum. He was preceded in death by his wife Esther after 73 years of marriage. He retired from Michigan Bell Telephone in 1980 after 40 years of service. He was a veteran of World War II and flew as a pilot in the Army Air Corps. He finished his military career in the Michigan National Guard as a pilot and retired from the Aviation unit in Grand Ledge. He enjoyed hunting and fishing trips, especially the yearly trips to Canada with family and friends. He spoke often of travelling to visit family, especially the cross country trips to California and Oregon to visit his daughter and grandchildren. Surviving are sisters Carol Sanborn of Solana Beach, CA, and Winifred Wallace of Pensacola, FL; children, Vickie Crum Rocker, Rodger (Joyce), Dennis (Martha), Jeffrey (Suzette) and Steve Crum; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Per his request, there will be no funeral service. The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Leland may be made to a charity of your choice. The family is being served by Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, East Chapel.
