

Lino was born on September 23, 1928 in Manila, Philippines. He grew up with his two brothers, Estong and Nardo. He and his beloved wife, Violeta Canlas Gaddi (whom he dearly called Bessie) met when they were young and got married on October 13, 1948. They loved to dance, competed and won numerous local dance competitions in Valenzuela City, Philippines.
He immigrated to the United States of America in 1985. They lived in Lansing until the passing of his beloved wife, Bessie in 2000. He eventually moved in Troy, MI in 2002. He lived a simple life, enjoying the company of his family and friends. He also frequently traveled the Philippines until he was diagnosed with cancer in 2019.
He is survived by his children, Emilisa (Romy) Corsame, Emilino (Sylvia) Viray, Emilito (Melencia) Viray, Elenito Viray, Emily (Cedric) Libiran, Emerita (Allan) Nicolas, Emmanuel (Faye) Viray, and Emilyn (Ryan) Nicol; his fourteen grandchildren, RC, Liezl, Ron, Ian, Kristina, Kenneth, Hamil, Phillip, Caitlyn, Matthew, Nathan, Arabelle, Isaac, and Adria; and five great grandchildren, John Ross, Aurea, Ellis, Marcus, Kassy; as well as adopted daughter, Emelinda (Loreano) Gorgonio and their children and grandchildren.
A visitation for Lino will be held from 4:30-7:30 pm on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at Gorsline Runciman East Chapel, 1730 E. Grand River Ave, with the Rosary prayed at 7:00. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 am Wednesday, May 3rd at Church of the Resurrection, 1505 East Michigan Avenue, with visitation from 10:00 until the time of Mass. The Rite of Committal will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The family welcomes guests back to the church for a luncheon following the committal.
