Lois Mae Jongert Bykerk

Lois was born April 5, 1934 in Ellsworth, Michigan to Nicholas and Elizabeth (Waterloo) Jongert, passed away June 28, 2014 at the age of 80. Lois was the organist at River Terrace Christian Reformed Church for many years.

She is survived by her husband, Cornelius “Neal” of 59 years; children, Russell (Nori) Bykerk, Lynda (Bob) Bakker, Lori (Bob) Young and John (Lorrie Jean) Bykerk; grandchildren, Ryan (Julie), Nicholas, and Mitchell Bykerk, Bob (Kristin) Bakker, Tony (Bethany) Bakker, Becky (Joe) Schra, David, Elizabeth and Jonathan Young; great grandchildren, Jake and Sam Bykerk, Bailey, Everett and Andrew Bakker; brothers and sisters, Tom (Jan) Jongert, Lorraine Zwier, Mildred (Ernie) Scheltema and Bea (Bill) Boersma; as well as several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Thursday, July 3, 11:00 a.m. at River Terrace Christian Reformed Church, 1509 River Terrace, East Lansing, with Rev. Sam Perry, Sr. Pastor officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 E. Grand River, East Lansing from 5-8 p.m. and one hour prior at the church. Interment will take place at Maple Ridge Cemetery in Holt.
