Lorraine Miller

Okemos, Michigan

Born July 21, 1920 in Shreveport, Louisiana to William and Mary Miller, Lorraine passed away peacefully on April 17, 2012 at the age of 91. She had many rewarding and exciting positions for the state of MI, including assistant to the auditor General, a clerk for the House of Representatives, and personal secretary to Governor Kim Sigler. Lorraine was membership director and lobbyist for the MI trucking association, and was involved in several legislative committees for the state of MI retiring in 1968. She volunteered for Sparrow hospital and truly enjoyed investing in the stock market and loved anything to do with politics. Lorraine was always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed any type of assistance especially her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, William “Earl” and James “Bob” Miller and sister, Charlene Barnes. Lorraine was survived by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews; dear friends Joe Potvin and Judy Fellows. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 24, at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 4444 W. Grand River at 2:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Capital Area Humane Society, 7095 West Grand River Ave, Lansing, MI 48906 in Lorraine’s memory.
