Went home to be with his Lord and Savior on November 25, 2014, at the age of 82. He was born May 8, 1932, to Frank and Hazel Blackledge. Lyle worked 35 years for the federal government in the selective service system and the U.S. Railroad Retirement Board. He joined Okemos Community Church in 1944.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Robert (Per), Franklin (Fay) and sister, Mildred. He is survived by nieces Elaine (Duane) Wagner, Judy Blackledge; nephews Dean (Lilah) Blackledge, Don Wagner, Larry Andrick, and Roger Andrick; numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on December 6, 2014, 1:00 pm at Okemos Community Church, 4734 Okemos Road, Okemos, MI, with Pastor Richard Blunt officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Special thanks to the caring staff of Hospice Advantage and Whitehills Health Center.
