

Mary Grace Jackson was born March 21, 1935, in Marquette, Michigan. Her parents were Grace Pierce and Boyd Churchill. She lived her first four years in Chatham, Michigan in the Upper Peninsula. The family moved to East Lansing in 1939. Mary Grace resided in East Lansing the remainder of her life except for 5 years in the 1960s. She graduated from East Lansing High School and went on to study at Michigan State College/University.
Mary Grace belonged to People’s Church since she was five and was an original member of the Clarion handbell choir. She taught most of her adult life at Donley Elementary school until retiring in 1992. Her family has been connected with MSU since 1925, having four generations to graduate.
Mary Grace married Dave Price after college, and they were divorced eight years later. Children from their marriage are David C Price and Shelly L Price (Green). Grandchildren are Mallory Price (Barger), Spenser Price, Jimmy Green, Grace Green, Emma Green (Geldersma) and Abby Green. Great grandchildren include Emerson, Rory and Makenna Barger, Walker and Winslow Price and Leo Geldersma.
Mary Grace married Louis Jackson in 1969 and had a son James Jackson.
Her family helped celebrate her 90th birthday earlier this year.
Mary Grace was preceded in death by her husband Louis and brother Donald Churchill.
The family wishes to say thank you to the staff at the Provisions of East Lansing as well as the medical associates at Sparrow Hospice for the care and support given to Mary Grace in her final weeks.
