Neal Charles Villhauer, age 64, passed away January 13, 2018 due to brain cancer, which he faced with optimism and a sense of humor throughout his illness. He was born in Harvey, Illinois to Robert and Florence Villhauer on November 20, 1953.
Neal was an attorney for the State of Michigan Court of Appeals for nearly thirty years. He was an excellent cook and enjoyed music, travel, playing basketball, and spending time in Northern Michigan with his family.
Preceded in death by his parents, Neal is survived by his wife, Linda Hegstrom; their children Alex, Maura, and Amelia Villhauer and Jeana and Kelsey (Chelsea Hunt-Teachout) Clampitt; brother, Gary (Darya) Villhauer; and three nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sparrow Foundation. Memorial services will be held at 2 o’clock on February 17, 2018, at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Greater Lansing, 5509 S. Pennsylvania Ave.
