Noel Stephen Walker

Noel S. Walker, 92, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 25, 2017 in Lansing, Michigan. Born December 26, 1924 in Long Eaton, England, Noel joined the Canadian Royal Air Force as a navigator in WWII before attending McGill University in Montreal. He worked as a civil engineer for the State of Michigan Department of Transportation for many years, shaping the bridges of Michigan for generations to come. Outside of work, Noel loved to travel and read.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Dorothy (Moss) Walker and his brother, Laurence Walker.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Diana Walker; his children, Michelle (Steve) Martin and Jonathan (Juliet) Walker; his grandchildren, Hayley, Katherine, and Anna Martin, Duncan and Jordan Walker; his brother, David Walker; and his sisters, Kathleen Jardine and Nancy Johnson.

A Celebration of Noel’s Life will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 3:00pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, East Chapel, 1730 E. Grand River Ave., East Lansing. The family will welcome friends one hour prior to the service.
