Peter L. VanderWaals

Age 84, born December 1, 1925 in Lansing, MI to Peter and Margaret VanderWaals, died May 13, 2010. Mr. VanderWaals was director of Pete VanderWaals Sounds of Swing. He retired from Bud Kouts after many years of service. He also enjoyed helping his son in his lawn care business. Peter was preceded in death by his parents; and son Thomas VanderWaals. Surviving is his loving wife, Jean (Smith) VanderWaals; daughter, Debbie (Dean) Aronson; son Peter M. (Ruth) VanderWaals, Jr.; and grandson, Donny VanderWaals. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 18, at 12 Noon at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, East Chapel, 1730 East Grand River Avenue, East Lansing, MI, with Rev. Karen Gale of Edgewood United Church officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Lansing, MI. The family will receive friends at the Chapel on Monday, May 17 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Those desiring may make contributions to Edgewood United Church, 469 N.
