Sam Reuschlein, age 79, of Bath, MI, died Saturday, April 3, 2010. Sam was born in Burlington, WI on June 30, 1930. Sam is survived by his wife of 55 years Patricia (Mealy); daughters Sue (Joe) Karich and Kathy (Ned) Mogabgab; son Jim (Kelli Cardis); 11 grandchildren and sister Lois Schott. Sam was preceded in death by daughters Amy Chavez and Julie Reuschlein.
Sam served our country in the Army Signal Corps as a cryptographer during the Korean Conflict; received a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin in Physical Education; and was a professor at Michigan State University in the Health, Physical Education and Recreation Department for over 25 years. During his career, Sam received many academic honors including Outstanding Faculty Member Award and Distinguished Service Award.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 955 Alton Road, East Lansing on Wednesday, April 7 at noon with Rev. Mark Inglot officiating. Visitation will be at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 E. Grand River Avenue, East Lansing on Tuesday, April 6, 4-8 p.m.
