Richard was born on June 6, 1961, in Lansing, Michigan. After graduating from East Lansing High School in 1979, Richard attended class at Lansing Community College. He traveled for a time, and when he returned to Michigan, he held various jobs in retail and transportation.
Richard had a wonderful sense of humor and frequently used funny catch phrases to emphasize a point. He adored animals and would often stop traffic to help turtles cross the road. He enjoyed Lansing's auto history and loved going to car shows in the area. Self-taught in drums, he had a band with his brother-in-law and a friend. Family and friends always enjoyed receiving his personal handwritten letters and cards.
Richard was preceded in death by his older brother, Robert and father, William. He is survived by his mother, Rebecca Schuon; sister, Laura Clark (Geof Rarick); brother, Joseph Clark (Naomi); and sister, Linda Clark (Sean Nonn).
A memorial visitation with a time of sharing will be held at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, located at 1730 East Grand River Ave, East Lansing, MI, 48823, on January 17, 2026. The visitation will take place from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, with the time of sharing scheduled for 3:00 pm.
