Robert DeWitt Keith, 79, of Okemos, Michigan passed away December 29, 2013. Robert was born in Manzini, Swaziland in southern Africa on March 3, 1934 to the late Clarence and Roberta (McMillan) Keith. He spent the first twelve years of his life in Africa before moving to the United States. He relocated to Michigan in 1968, and finally settled in Okemos, MI ten years later. Robert earned his PhD. from Michigan State University and was a psychologist at a private practice for thirty years before his retirement. He also served as a minister in Kansas City, MO and Sunfield, MI. An accomplished artist, Robert also enjoyed woodworking and carving and was a member of the Red Cedar Carvers Guild. He will be greatly missed.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents and his child, Sharon Rose Keith. Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, Joanne; daughter, Julie Gwen (Richard Voci) Keith; son, Robert Devin (Lisa Ann) Keith; grandchildren, Amelia Rose and Delilah Jane Voci, and Devin Andrew and Lucy Ann Keith; brothers, John Keith and David Keith; sisters, Esther Snyman, Bethel (Ervin) Lorenzen; Mary (Harold) Gunsalus, Bonnie (Brian) Sheen, and Verona (Robert) Barrows; brothers-in-law, Jack (Ella) Goodman, Elaine (Robert) Wing, and Robert (Ann) Goodman; and numerous loved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held January 12, 2014 at 2:00 PM at The Peoples Church, 200 W. Grand River Ave., East Lansing, MI 48823.
