It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ronald Beauchine on September 20, 2018 at the age of 83. Ron was born February 7, 1935 to Charles and Aili Beauchine in Munising Michigan. Ron’s memory carries on in the hearts of his loving wife of 59 years, Sally, his children Bonnie (Dan) Bloomquist, Brian (Bethany) Beauchine and Becky Kulka, grandchildren Breanne (Brian) Cremean, Ian Bloomquist, Leah Bloomquist, Aili (Ross) Crumbaugh, Andersen Beauchine, Aaron Beauchine, Kaila (Jake) Portell, Devan Kulka and Hunter Kulka, and great grandchildren Finnegan and Elina Cremean and Belle Portell. He is also survived by his sister, Patricia (Robert) Broda and brother Melvin (Karen) Beauchine and many nieces and nephews.
Ron graduated from Munising High school in 1954, and was named the top basketball player in the UP for the year in the Marquette Mining Journal. After serving in the Marines for 2 years he entered the Michigan State Police as a Trooper. He rose to the level of 1st Lieutenant as the head of polygraph, with 2 precedent setting cases before his retirement in 1988. Ron graduated from Saginaw Valley State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree, and from the FBI Academy in Quantico.
Ron was many things to many people but his role as a family man seemed to bring him the most joy. He could tell a good story, had a generous heart and loved spending time with his family. We will miss his stories, his teases, and his ability to bring our family together. In these things, he gave us many years of wonderful memories, sage advice – and some good genes – that we will carry forward in his honor.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the Chapel at Hawk Hollow, 4501 Hawk Hollow Drive West, Bath MI 48808 on Monday September 24th at 3:00 pm.
