Sue Ann (Stagemeyer) Kael, 73 years old of Lansing, Michigan passed away Friday, September 2, 2022 at 2:48 am. at McLaren Hospital in Lansing, Michigan. Sue battled Multiple Myeloma and Breast Cancer for 6 years.
Susie was born September 4, 1948, in Twin Fall’s Idaho, the daughter of Patricia and Kenneth Stagemeyer. She graduated from Eastern High School Class of 1966.
Sue completed many courses including Alliance Of American Insurers 1981, Michigan State University, University of Detroit, LCC, Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, Lawrence Technological University, Commonwealth Of Kentucky, and numerous with Auto Owners Insurance.
Sue began her insurance career with Dairyland Sentry Insurance in 1968. She was licensed with the State of Michigan as a Resident Agent October 31, 1980.
Sue joined Auto Owners Insurance Co. in 1981 at the home office. Sue retired after 33 years in 2014.
Sue was recognized many times for excellency including the Secretary of State for the excellent job in preparing billing for Assigned Claims. She received numerous promotions including Manager of PIP Claims on March 29, 1990. Sue was named Manager, Catastrophic PIP Claims on August 21, 2001.
Sue was an active member of The Michigan Claims Adjuster Association.
Sue loved her Son’s Nick and Thad, her Grand Children Niko, Madison and Gavin, her Mother, Grandmother and her Family. Her dog Febe, Bling, Jewelry, Shoes, Clothes, The color Purple, Roses Purple Red and White, Traveling, Soul and Hip Hop music and she loved to dance.
Sue’s priority was Caring for Others which she did before caring for herself.

Surviving is her lifelong Love, James L. Kael. 2 wonderful and Loving Sons, Nick Lee Kael 54, of Cedar Grove, New Jersey, and Thad James Kael 48 of Daytona Beach, Florida. 3 Grand Children: Nikolas Carey-Kael Born August 30, 1990. Father Nick Kael, Mother Cynthia Louise Carey. Madison Kael Born May 29, 2001, Gavin Kael Born February 6, 2004. Father Nick Kael, Mother Jennifer Lee Kael of Cedar Grove, New Jersey. Two Brothers: Lonnie Collins of Dimondale, Michigan, and Audie Collins of (Portland Or.)
Two Sisters: Shannon (Dado) Franco of Shelby Township, MI. and Toni Moore of Lansing, MI.
Father Kenneth Stagemeyer of Twin Falls, Idaho.
Sue was preceded in death by her Mother Patricia Ann (John) Brewer, Stepfather Eugene R. Collins,
Sisters: Kimberly Bailey and Christie Ryder. 1 Brother Monte (Theresa) Collins.
A visitation for Sue will be held Thursday, September 8, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 East Grand River Ave, East Lansing, MI 48823. A funeral service will occur Friday, September 9, 2022 at 11:00 AM with an hour-prior visitation from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Following the service, Sue will be laid to rest in East Lawn Memory Gardens, 2400 Bennett Rd, Okemos, MI 48864.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to American Cancer Society, ASPCA (The American Society for the Prevention of cruelty to Animals.)
