Tamara Louise "Tami" Nichols, 64, passed away on December 24, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on April 26, 1960, to Lyle Earl Nichols and JoAnn Louise (Bredahl) Nichols, Tami grew up with a strong spirit and a love for life that touched everyone she met.
Tami earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Strayer University in 2016 and went on to dedicate her career to the medical field. She worked in various capacities, including as a surgical technician and in instrument ordering, contributing her skills at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing and Rex Hospital in Raleigh. Her dedication to her work was matched only by her resilience; Tami faced and overcame cancer multiple times throughout her life, demonstrating remarkable strength and determination.
Outside of her professional life, Tami found joy in the simple pleasures of the outdoors. She loved camping, gardening, and caring for her plants. She also had a passion for jewelry making and cherished time spent with her beloved cats, including her current companion, Muffin. Tami’s warmth and creativity were evident in all she did, especially with all the plants she cared for.
She is preceded in death by her parents. Tami is survived by her son Jonathon Graham; her sister Teri Chadwell (Mark); nephews Christopher (Kaleigh) Chadwell and Conor (Veronica) Chadwell; many caring and devoted aunts and uncles; and her close childhood friend Lauri (Weston) Stott. Her family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Williamston Compassionate Care for their exceptional support during Tami’s final days.
In honor of Tami’s memory, memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G Komen Cancer Foundation.
