Virginia M. Miller

East Lansing

Age 96, passed away on April 19th, 2013. She was born June 6, 1916 in Brighton, Michigan, the daughter of Seth and Minnie Jacobs.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Ellis Nemer (1977), her second husband Hollis Miller (1996), her daughter, Sally Fisher (2006), her step-son Norman Miller (1967) and great-grandson Aaron Lonier (1995).

Virginia is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Joe)Lonier, step-daughter Barbara (Miller) Jason and Jone Jones. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Amy (Joe) Hanvey, Susan (Ray) Stover, Mark (Kelli) Selby; step-grandchildren, Janice (Toby) Monforton, Deb (Greg) Baker, Susan Miller, Mary Jernigan and Michael Miller and Jeff (Lesia)Lonier. In addition, 17 great-grandchildren are surviving, Emma, Elliott, Brendon, Carter, Evan, Braxton, Mariesa, Paige, Jack, Julia, Mark, Sara, Paige, Hanah, Allyssa, Rachel and Paige.

Virginia graduated from Williamston High School and Lansing Business University. After college she was employed at Anderson & Neller Law Firm and MSU. From 1940 to 1958, she owned the Vantown Store with her husband, Ellis. She retired from Mason General Hospital after 25 years of employment.

Her greatest love was her family, who spent a great deal of time with her.

The family wishes to thank her physician Dr. Raymond Hansen, Diana and Meri from Great Lakes Caring Hospice and the Evergreen aides for their loving and tender ways.

The memorial service will be held Friday, April 26, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Church, 3355 Dunckel Road, Lansing. The family will receive friends Thursday, April 25, 4-7 pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 East Grand River Avenue, East Lansing.
