Bill, a loving father, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus and ushered into his eternal home on October 31, 2021. He was born March 30, 1936, in Sale Creek, TN, to Luther and Gwenjanetta Hutcheson. His family later moved to Flint, MI, where he graduated from Bendle High School in 1955. He has made Lansing, MI, his permanent home for over 65 years. Bill made his career working at MSU, out of the Physical Plant, until he retired in 1989. After official retirement he enjoyed working in his brother’s electrical and lighting stores for many years. He will be remembered as a man of outstanding character and integrity with a heart for the Lord. He was kind, generous, humble and exuded a caring, Christ-like spirit toward others. Throughout his life he found much pleasure and encouragement in listening to southern gospel music. He was happiest when in the presence of family and friends having a conversation and joking with each other over a good meal.
Bill is survived by his daughter, Sandra (Joe) Anson. Also very special to him was his lifelong friend and ex-wife, Sally (Jerry) Dean. Surviving siblings include Win (Pauline), sisters Mary Ann Gould and Eva Lynne (Frank) Mainer.
He was preceded in death by his mother and step-dad, Gwen and Gene Nix, father and step-mom, Luther (Dean) Hutcheson, brothers Carl and James (Norman).
