Alice E. Pirck Sedekum

She was born January 9, 1931 in Waukesha, Wisconsin to Paul and Beulah (Gorzny) Pirck. She married Lyle D. Sedekum on January 21, 1950 in Peoria. He preceded her in death in 2007.

Also preceding her in death were her brother, Jack Pirck, her sister, Dorothy Ann Oldham and her great grandson, Darrien.

Surviving are; her children, Lyle “Butch” Sedekum of Pine Village, Indiana, Barbara (Pat) Hutt of Cuba, IL, Diane (George) Hackward of Elmwood, IL and Randy (Hope) Sedekum of Port St. Lucie, Florida; 9 grandchildren, Ben, Justin, Heather, Holly, Jennifer, Jason, Nancy, Michael and Andrea; 18 great grandchildren; her sister, Pauline Bochum of Huntley, IL and her sister-in-law, Gaye Anne Pirck of Peoria.

She worked in housekeeping at the Buehler Home in Peoria for many years, retiring in 1993.

Alice loved NASCAR, she loved Dale Jr. (Go 88) and she loved the Chicago Cubs. Most of all she loved her family and will be remembered as a caring, generous and loving soul.

Her funeral will be at 10:30 am Friday, May 22, 2015 at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. The Rev. Roger Mertens will officiate. Burial will follow at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7 pm at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the National Stroke Association.
