Brian E. Shallenberger

Brian E. Shallenberger, 53, of Metamora, passed away at 6:38 a.m. Friday, Jan. 17, 2014 at his home. He was born January 23, 1960 in Peoria to Donald and Lenora Joy (Parnham) Shallenberger. He married Trudy K. Burton in Peoria in 1995. She survives. Also surviving are his mother of East Peoria; daughter, Emily; and his father and mother-in-law, George and Sue Burton of Groveland. He was preceded in death by his father; son, Dylan; and brother, Steve. Brian was a hard worker, working for the City of East Peoria Public Works Department for 35 years, starting the day after High School. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 627. He enjoyed touring the country on his Harley and driving his GTO. Brian’s main love was spending time with his family and friends, and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. Celebration of Life Services will start at 5:00 p.m. Thursday at the East Peoria Boat Club. Cremation will be accorded with burial of ashes in Hirstein Cemetery in Morton at a later date. Memorials may be made to an education fund for Emily at the Morton Community Bank.
