Callie M. Dinkins, 86, of East Peoria, IL, passed away, in the presence of her family, at O.S. F. St. Francis Hospital in Peoria, IL. She went to be with Jesus at 11:20 a.m., Tuesday November 8, 2011.
Callie was born November 28, 1924 in Purvis, MO. to Theodore E. and Alta M. (Griesemer) Phillips. On October 3, 1944, she married James V. Dinkins, Sr. in Rossville, GA.
Callie was preceded in death by her parents, brother Kenneth Phillips, and sister Fern Scott, both of California, MO., and one great grandson Lucas Hendrickson.
Surviving are her husband of East Peoria, sister Thelma Sharp of Dallas, TX, sons; James V. (Jamie) Dinkins, Jr., and Phillip Dinkins both of Peoria, IL, Donald R. (Linda) Dinkins of East Peoria, IL, and Tony A. (Kris) Dinkins of Washington, IL, nine grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.
Services will be held at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria, IL, on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 11 a.m. with one hour of visitation prior to the service. Tony Dinkins will officiate.
