East Peoria – Carla Jo Burger, 62 of 208 Freedom Trail, East Peoria, passed away at 5:30 AM on Thursday, October 1, 2015, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. She was born on March 25, 1953 in Peoria to Carl J. and Ruth E. (Sokolis) Engelking. She married John M. Burger on October 16, 1972 in East Peoria. He survives along with one son Shawn Burger of Eureka, one daughter Heather Palmer of East Peoria, two grandsons Brandon and Aaron Palmer both of East Peoria, and one brother Randy Engelking of Chatham, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Carla was a housewife and homemaker. Her remains will be donated to science. No services are scheduled at this time. Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, Inc., 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016. Remmert Funeral Home is assisting the family.
