Carol M. Warren

She was born March 15, 1925 in Stephenson County, IL the daughter of Elmer and Bertha Fleugel Messman. She married Jack R. Warren on July 6, 1943 in Jacksonville, IL. He preceded her in death on July 30, 1983 in Peoria.

Carol is survived by her children, Richard (Dale) Warren of Chillicothe, Michael (Penny) Warren of Tampa, FL, and Brian Warren of Crystal Lake, IL; five granddaughters and four grandsons; numerous great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, June Hayden of Montana; and one brother, Leland Messman of Cheyenne, WY.

She is also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and two brothers.

Carol was a member of Mt Calvary Lutheran Church in Peoria and a member of Lutheran Women of Mt Calvary.

She was also a founding member and past President of Peoria Area Blind Center, and Illinois Social Club for the Blind.

Carol received the Central Illinois Center for the Blind & Visually Impaired Founder’s Award in 2014.

In her earlier years Carol operated a concession for the blind at the Peoria Post Office in the Federal Building.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Remmert Funeral Home. Rev. Barry Long will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to services.

Burial will be in Fondulac Township Cemetery in East Peoria.
