Clara M Hendrickson

Born May 22, 1945 in Kennett, MO to Hubert and Lucille (Clark) Jenkins; she married Norman L. Hendrickson on June 16, 1962 in Poplar Bluff, MO. He preceded her in death on January 6, 2025.

Also preceding her in death were her parents; son, Steven Hendrickson; brothers, Bob (Dorothy) Jenkins and Danny Jenkins.

Surviving are her daughter, Angela (Mark) Hawkins of Washington; grandchildren, Heather Hawkins, Jacqueline (Tim) Harper, Tabitha (Zack) Miller, Joshua Hendrickson, Jason Hendrickson, and Hayley (Jerry III) Haynes; great grandchildren, Jerry “JC” Haynes, IV, Declan Miller, Lincoln Blum, Avelina Haynes, and Lydia Miller; sisters, Ida Miller, Carol (Tom) Kimbrow, and Debra Jenkins; brother, Bruce (Pam) Jenkins and sister-in-law, Christine Jenkins.

In her younger years, Clara was a car hop in Poplar Bluff, MO where she met Norman and then later worked as an Avon consultant.

She was a member of Summit Nazarene in Washington where she had taught Sunday School.

Clara is remembered for loving her family and Church, as a wonderful cook and enjoyed many travelling adventures.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, July 11, 2025 at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. Pastor Gretta Nash will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service and burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Washington.

Memorials are suggested to her church, Summit Nazarene.
