Danny Lynn McGill, 69, of East Peoria, passed away on Friday, December 19, 2025, at his home, surrounded by loving family. Born in Quincy, on April 13, 1956, he was the son of John Jr. and Mary (Hollis) McGill. On August 25, 2001, he married Robin Heath.
Surviving Danny is his wife, Robin McGill; four children Noelle (Joe) Munds, Heather (Michael Vela) David, Danny (Brittany) McGill, Jr., and Johnathon (Hailie) McGill; two grandchildren, Sorsha and Liam; a brother, Gary (Cindy) McGill; and a sister-in-law, Carrie McGill. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, James and Timothy McGill.
Danny worked as a machinist with Caterpillar for 35 years and retired in 2009. He was a karaoke fanatic and loved helping people host events. He wrestled Greco-Roman at Richwoods High School and went to the IL Valley Championship and Conference. He was a member of the local UAW.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at Remmert Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Additional visitation will take place on Monday, December 29, 2025, at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Fondulac Cemetery.
