Donald "Donnie" Ray Davis, Jr.

He was born February 1, 1952 in Peoria to Donald R. and Barbara Lee (McKay) Davis, Sr. He married Linda Conroy March 6, 1981 in Peoria.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers: Mike Davis and Steve Davis.

Survivors include one daughter, Tricia (Terry) Grisham of Morton, two granddaughters: Tressa and Trista Grisham, one great-granddaughter, Sadie, one sister, Sheila Hull, two brothers: Willy (Rita) Davis, Randy (Donnia) Davis, and one sister-in-law, Mary Davis.

Donnie attended East Peoria High School class of 1970. Following High School he was a Machinist for Caterpillar, Inc. working out of building KK, retiring in May 2006. He later returned to Caterpillar as a contract worker with ATS and VOLT. He was a member of the UAW Local 974. He also enjoyed for many years counting the end of the day money at the Twistee Treat in East Peoria.

Later in life he enjoyed watching football, NASCAR, and old westerns.

Donnie loved spending time with his family. He was a gentle and quiet man with such a kind smile. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services will be Friday, January 17, 2025 at 2 p.m. at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services.

Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
