He was born August 30, 1946 in Sikeston, MO to James V. Dinkins, Sr. and Callie M. (Phillips) Dinkins. He married Linda A. Gnehm December 23, 1967 in East Peoria, IL.
He is survived by his wife Linda; daughter Anne E. (Timothy J.) Bradford, grandchildren Benjamin D. Bradford and Lindsey A. Bradford, all of Morton, IL; and his brothers Tony A. (Kris) Dinkins of Resaca, GA, and Phillip L. Dinkins of Peoria, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother James V. Dinkins, Jr.
Don was a 1964 graduate of East Peoria Community High School. He served as a U.S. Army Drill Sergeant during the Vietnam War. He later graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Management Degree from the University of Illinois at Springfield. During his career at Caterpillar, he held various management positions retiring in 2004. He was a man of great faith, and he loved spending time with his family.
Don will be laid to rest in Fondulac Cemetery. Services will be private.
