Dorothy Jean Muir

Dorothy was born on January 13, 1927 in Simpson, IL to Lewis and Chloe (Lewis) Stapleton. She married Wayne Muir on February 25, 1949 in West Frankfort, IL. He preceded her in death in September of 2000. She was also preceded in death by her parents, eight brothers and five sisters.

Surviving are her sons, Daniel (Vickey) Muir of Peoria, IL and Gregory Muir of Creve Coeur, IL; three grandchildren, Matthew (Tonya) Muir of Oskalooska, IA, Aaron Muir of Peoria, IL and Alexandria Muir of Creve Coeur, IL; three great-grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters.

Dorothy worked for District 76 and for the Tazewell Children’s Center. She was a member of the Church of God.

Services will be held on Friday, February 20, 2015 at 10am at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria with Rev. Paul Isom officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2015 from 5pm to 7pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Roberts Cemetery in Morton. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
