George was born to William and Clara Cogle in Mason County, Michigan on April 20, 1934. Upon completing high school George entered into the Army and honorably served his country. On October 8,1976 George married the love of his life, Edith Shaw Stoecker.
George loved spending time in the outdoors; it didn’t matter if he was fishing, hunting, or shooting trap, he loved the outdoors.
George is survived by his wife, Edith Sauers of East Peoria; one step daughter, Diana Stokes of Columbus, Ohio; and many grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, and great greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by one step daughter, Debra Jo Stoecker
A memorial service will be held at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria, Illinois, at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, August 10, 2017. Rev. Ken Linder will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior.
