Grayce Bartley

East Peoria - Grayce Redshaw Bartley, 82, of East Peoria, passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at her home. She was born on March 23, 1939 in Granville, a daughter of Roy and Dorothy Maude (Gunn) Redshaw. She married James Edward Bartley on April 26, 1957 in East Peoria. He survives.

Grayce is also survived by her four children, Dorene M. (John) Gysin of Peoria, James E. "Jeb" (Deb) Bartley, Jr. of Fort Wayne, IN, Trayce N. (Angela) Bartley of Groveland, and Stacey M. Cooling of East Peoria; and 11 grandchildren, Jessica (Dylan) Polk, Jonathan Gysin, Courtney (Nick) Hogan, Bryce Bartley, Rebecca Bartley, Cody Bartley, Ryan Bartley, Kyle Cooling, Kelsey Cooling, Isabelle Cooling, and Isaac Cooling; and five great-grandchildren, Jade Hogan, Jax Hogan, Connor Polk, Liam Polk, Theo Bartley.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one infant son, James Edward Bartley; one brother, Roy Charles Redshaw; and four sisters, Shirley Johnson, Jacqueline Hall, Charlotte Westbrook, and Jackie Lee Fowler.

Grayce was a graduate of East Peoria Community High School, where she was a cheerleader and was involved in modern dance. She played softball and loved to travel internationally. Grayce loved to sing and was a former member of the Oak Grove Evangelical Bible Church Choir. She also was a former Sunday School teacher at Oak Grove Church. Grayce is a member of Grace Church in Morton.

Grayce's funeral service will be at 10:00 am Friday, October 22, 2021 at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. Rev. Gary Roseboom will officiate. Her visitation will be from 9:00 am to 10:00 am also on Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Oak Grove Evangelical Bible Church Cemetery in East Peoria.
