Helen Louise Davis McMillan

H. Louise Davis McMillan, 92, formerly of East Peoria, passed away on Saturday November 27, 2010 in WheatRidge, Colorado. She was born on August 18, 1918 in Rushville, Illinois, to Glenn and Velma Fretueg Stivers. In 1937 she married E. Kenneth Davis who died in 1969. She married Cecil McMillan in 1971, who passed away in 1991. Predeceased by three sisters and one brother: Sophia Irwin, Rockford; Mary Ann Tucker, East Peoria; Minnie Arnold, Rushville; and brother Richard Stivers, Rushville. One sister, Margurite Smith of Rushville, survives.

Louise is survived by three sons Eldred (Jan) Davis, Lutz, FL, Vernie (Nancy) Davis, Greensboro, NC, and Linden (Jan) Davis, Golden, CO; five grandchildren Jody (Jeff) Green, Richmond, VA, Jessica (William) Lewis, Cary, NC, Laura Davis, Golden, CO, Hilary (Neal) Clegg, Durham, NC, and Trevor Davis, Denver, CO; five great grandchildren Luke and Katrina Barela, Eliza Jane and Anna Kathryn Lewis, and Natalie Clegg; three stepchildren Robert (Ann) McMillan, Florida, Candace (Lon Wolf) McMillan, IL, and Ruth Ann Cook, Plano, TX; and eleven step-grandchildren. Step-son David (Janet) McMillan is deceased.

Louise graduated from Rushville High School in1937. She retired as a receptionist at Methodist Medical Center. She also worked for Gaines Florist and City Directory. She was a member of the East Peoria First Baptist Church.

Funeral Services will be at 1 pm on Saturday December 11, 2010 at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria, with Visitation 11 am to 1 pm. Rev. Jon Dainty will officiate. Private burial will be in Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.
