Henry Coulton Brewster

Born January 4, 1943 in Maryville, Tenn. to JP “Joe” and Ella (Godfrey) Brewster; he married Brenda Stauffacher on July 27, 1968 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in East Peoria and she preceded him in death on April 19, 2015.

Surviving are his son, Troy Brewster of Janesville; his grandchildren, Darin and Sydni Brewster, also of Janesville; his brother, Fred (Carol) Brewster of Manito, IL; his brother-in-law, Wayne Henson of East Peoria; his sister-in-law, Mary Wise of Peoria; and many nieces and nephews.

Also preceding in death were his daughter, Josette Brewster; brothers, Mel and Rudy Brewster; sister-in-law, Carol Henson; and his brother-in-law, Grover Wise.

Henry was a US Navy Veteran of the Vietnam Era.

He was a member of UAW Local #974 and worked in many capacities at Caterpillar Inc. in the Peoria area until his retirement in 1999 after 33 years of service.

Henry loved spending time with his grandchildren and is remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor.

He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in East Peoria where funeral services will begin at 10:00 am Thursday, April 13, 2017 with the Rev. Kurt Mews officiating. Burial with Navy Funeral Honors supported by American Legion Post #2 of Peoria will follow the service.

Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 pm Wednesday, April 12th at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria and one hour prior to the funeral at the church on Thursday.

Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor’s choice.
