Janet S. "Jan" Burrell

Janet S. “Jan” Burrell, 72, of Germantown Hills, Illinois, passed away Monday, October 26, 2015 at the OSF Richard Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, Illinois. She was born on March 3, 1943 in Dexter, Missouri to Orville and Ollie (Darby) Ellis. She married Charles R. “Bob” Burrell on September 10, 1961 in Springfield, Illinois. He survives.

She is also survived by three children, Christina (George) Nigh of Olathe, Kansas, Robert (Venessa) Burrell of Owensboro, Kentucky and Andrew Burrell of Indianapolis, Indiana. She has ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Jan is survived by one brother Jerry Ellis of Springfield, Illinois and one sister, Jean Hazelwood of Illinois. She is preceded in death by one infant granddaughter, one sister, Joan Otten and one brother, Ralph Taylor.

Graveside services will be Monday, November 2, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Oakwood Cemetery in Metamora, Illinois . The Rev. Jack Thompson will officiate. Visitation will be Saturday from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM at the Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. Memorials may be made to the OSF Richard Owens Hospice Home or to the Illinois Cancer Care.
