

Groveland – Kay Van Hooser, 88, of Groveland, IL passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at O.S.F. Saint Francis Medical Center. She was born June 6, 1926 in St. Louis, MO to Dell and Jessie Brookshire. She married Orrin “Gene” Van Hooser on October 11, 1968 in Eureka, IL.
Kay was a homemaker and her passion was her family. She loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and her husband. Kay and Gene love to travel to Florida where they had a condo on Marco Island overlooking the Gulf of Mexico.
Surviving is her husband Gene Van Hooser of Groveland, IL, daughter Karron (Jay) Livingston of Germantown Hills, IL, daughter Rhonda (Dennis) Schielein of Peoria, IL, son Michael (Terry) Redd of East Peoria, IL, step-daughter Sandra (Stan) Ward of Seminole, OK, seven grandchildren; Tammy, Jason, Brock, Nick, Adam, Becky, and April, and thirteen great grandchildren. Kay was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.
Services will be held at 11 am Monday, November 10, 2014 at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria, IL. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
