

Kelly Harper, age 68, of East Peoria, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at 8:13 a.m. at Carle Methodist Medical Center in Peoria, surrounded by the love of his family. A devoted husband, father, brother, and friend, Kelly leaves behind a legacy of craftsmanship, faith, and deep love for those closest to him.
He was born March 17, 1958 in Peoria to Jesse and Joan (Summers) Harper. They preceded
him in death.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 13 years, Jackie Harper; his sister, Tammy Manuel; his children, Jeremy Harper, Micah (Craig) Ineichen, and Kimberly Harper; and his stepchildren, Jennifer (William) McCarthy and Matthew Foster.
He was a proud and loving grandfather to Ellyanna, Delaney, Colton, Dru, Falyn, Weston, Flynn, and Meadow, who brought immense joy to his life.
Kelly called East Peoria home for more than 20 years. He was an exceptionally talented carpenter who specialized in cabinetry, a craft he took great pride in. His skillful hands and keen eye for detail created pieces that will stand for generations. He spent much of his career working with the IBEW of Peoria and Roecker Cabinets in Morton, Illinois, earning the respect of colleagues and clients alike for his strong work ethic and integrity.
Above all, Kelly loved his family, his faith, and his country. He treasured time spent traveling, casting a fishing line, and gathering with those he loved most. He was a steady presence, a man of conviction, and someone who could build just about anything — including a life filled with purpose and devotion.
His memory will live on in the lessons he taught, the love he gave, and the many lives he touched.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at 11 a.m. at the Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services.
Burial will be in Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.
Memorials may be made to the family for funeral expenses.
