Linda Anne Gardiner, 82, of Peoria, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at the Villas of Hollybrook. Linda was born on January 16, 1943 in Peoria, Illinois, to her parents, Ralph “Rudy” Hoerr and Anna “Annie” Mae Hoerr (Tyrrell). Linda married Michael “Mike” J. Gardiner on May 27, 1961 in Peoria. He preceded her in death on June 1, 2019. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Left to cherish Linda’s memory is her loving family: daughter, Theresa “Terry” Miller (David); son, John Douglas Gardiner (Sheila); grandchildren, Samuel Miller, Jack Miller (Amanda Cannon), Aubrie Gardiner, Mike Gardiner (Merissa); one great-grandson, Graham Miller; and her cat, Maggie.
Linda retired as a teacher from District 150. She was a proud alumni of Bradley University, and very much enjoyed cooking and her collection of various cookbooks. Linda was a kind and giving soul, always putting others ahead of herself. Her grandchildren were the light of her life.
A Memorial Mass for Linda will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 1:00pm at St Anthony’s Catholic Church, 2525 S Skyway Rd.
