

Marshall F. Bandy Sr., 84, of Washington passed away at 7:26 a.m. Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at his residence. Marshall was born July 27, 1930 in Peoria the son of Haskell and Mary Kerrn Bandy. He married Jacqueline Arends in 1952, and raised their six children together. He later made his home with Beverly LeMaster for twenty-four years. He enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. For the last nine years he shared his life with his companion, Eileen Beemer of Pekin. He is survived by his children, Marshall F. Bandy Jr. of Peoria, Paulinda (Alan) Filyaw of Mapleton, Loretta Bandy of Washington, Grace Jones of Kansas City, MO, Glenda Brabson of Bartonville; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Marshall was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Kennard and Merle; one sister, Grace Glore; one son , Merle Bandy, and one grandson, Adam Bandy. He was a Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict and served on the USS Rochester and the USS Calvert. He is a member of the Roy L. King V.F.W. Post 1232 in Pekin, and the American Legion. Marshall was a truck driver for F. W. Means until his retirement in 1981. Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Davison-Fulton Woolsey Funeral Home in Pekin. Visitation will be Friday, September 19, 2014 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. also at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Disabled Veteran’s Home in Iowa City, Iowa, where Marshall received most of his medical care.
