Maurice E. Floyd

Maurice was born January 22, 1927 in Gnat Hill, TN to Samuel and Dolly Floyd. He married Erma Norene Blair on September 9, 1950. She precedes him in death.

He is survived by his children; Maurice Floyd of New Lisbon, WI, David (Nina) Floyd of Washington, Randall Floyd of Washington, Debra Mabry of Eureka Springs, AR, Armetha (Al) Betourne of East Peoria, Willis (Mary) Floyd of East Peoria, Sister; Margie Trail of Beach Grove, TN, Brother; Roy Floyd of Manchester, TN, ten grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Maurice is also preceded in death by his Parents and eight siblings.

Maurice served his country in the US Army as a Port Operator, and was a Korean War Veteran. He worked for CAT for thirty nine and a half years as a Core Setter in the foundry, and retired from CAT in 1982. He was a member of the East Peoria VFW.

He enjoyed sitting on the porch and having a big cigar on a hot day. He loved and cherished his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Services for Maurice will be held at 11 AM, Saturday July 26, 2014 at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. Pastor Zach Hoffman will officiate. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service. Burial will be in Roberts Cemetery, Morton.

Memorial Donations in honor of Maurice may be made to St. Jude’s Midwest Affiliate.
