Nikki Lynn Gendron-Jones

Born October 19, 1971 in Peoria to Timothy and Paula (Van Dyke) Gendron; she married Christopher Jones in Peoria.

Surviving are her husband, Chris of East Peoria; mother, Paula Smart (Mark Shank) of East Peoria; daughters, Stefanie Amerson of Washington and Emma Jones of East Peoria; grandchildren, Phoenix and Amelia Couve; brothers, Charles Smart and Michael Smart, both of East Peoria; sister, Teresa Lenhart of East Peoria; mother-in-law, Jo Ann Jones; brother-in-law, Troy (Marcia) Jones; nephews, Logan Webster, Drew Leathers and Joey Smart; great niece, Rozlyn Jones and great nephew, Lochlan Webster; and her beloved cats, Shadow and Toodles.

Preceding her in death were her father; grandparents, Willis and Erma Van Dyke and Evelyn Gendron.

Nikki graduated from East Peoria High School and devoted her life to homemaking and motherhood having home-schooled her daughter Emma K-12. She played a big part in raising many children and was “Aunt Nikki” to many, though recently that evolved to “Aunt Kiki” which she truly adored.

She embraced her family with wide open arms and cherished their company at family gatherings, card nights and holiday celebrations.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, February 20, 2026 at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria with the Pastor Brian Pape officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Thursday, February 19, also at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
