On February 22, 2008, Becky married the love of her life, Brett Gann, in Peoria. He survives, along with her daughters, Nicole Brabson (DeAaron Williams) and Kristi Brabson (Zac Frank); her stepchildren, Brett Gann Jr., Sadie Gann, and Sydney Gann (Phil Henrickson); and three grandchildren, Nick Gomez, Michael Pearce Jr., and Camdyn Frank.

Becky is also survived by her mother and two brothers, Jason Smithee and Kenneth Smithee.

She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Chloe Smith, and her grandparents, John and Dorothy Hofmann.

Becky dedicated her life to caring for others as a caregiver with the State of Illinois. She had a giving heart and a joyful spirit that touched everyone she met.

Becky found her greatest joy in spending time with her grandchildren—whether swimming or just being together. She loved embroidery, drawing, dancing, singing, and shopping.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Pastor Steve Weber will officiate. A private family burial will follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Richard L. Owens Hospice Home.
