Shirley Sue Barnwell

Shirley Sue Rowland Barnwell, 70, of East Peoria passed away at 3:50 a.m. Friday July 8, 2016, in Peoria. She was born on December 15, 1945, in Peoria to Alfred W. and Savannah Hall Rowland. She married Roy Barnwell in Peoria on February 6, 1965. He survives, along with one son, Benny (Sherry) Barnwell of East Peoria; one daughter, Barbara (Vince) McCane of Peoria; four grandchildren, Thomas (Alyssa) Barnwell, Brittany and Joshua Barnwell and Breanna (Jonathan) Marshall; one great-grandson, Eli Barnwell; one sister, Barbara (Carl) Barnwell of Bartonville; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and three sisters.Shirley had been a waitress at the River City Café in Peoria for 35 years. She was a member of the Bowling Barnwells. She had been a youth bowling coach throughout the Peoria area.A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Cremation will be accorded.
