Verneal Esther LaRosh

Verneal was born December 7, 1914 in Groveland Township the daughter of Robert and Flora Schweiker Strickfaden . She married Clyde C. LaRosh on April 21, 1935 in Pekin, IL.

She is survived by one daughter, Sheila (Virgil) Stroup of Esero, FL ; one son Jamie Jadaway of Peoria; four grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Verneal was preceded in death by her husband of seventy years; her parents; one sister Alice Ramey; and one great-grandson, Nicholas.

She was a homemaker and farmed many years with her husband Clyde, in Pekin, Minonk, and Deer Creek. She also worked at the Princess Peggy dress factory in Peoria, the Articheck in Pekin, and the Morton Canning Factory.

She was a member of Pattonsburg Christian Church where she was a ladies aide and home extension of Woodford County.

Verneal was a charter member of Minonk Matrons Club, Garden Club, Prime Timers Club, Red Ladies of Estero, as well as the activities with Cypress Bend Park since 1998.

Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 19, 2014 at Zion Evangelical United Methodist Church Cemetery in Groveland. Rev. Tim Barber will officiate.

Memorials may be made to the building fund at Cedar Hills Baptist Church.
