Viola Florine Smith

She was born October 31, 1934 in Pekin, IL to Lester and Margaret (Wall) Haney. She married Donald L. Smith on November 11, 1955 in Pekin. He preceded her in death on July 14, 2012. Also preceding her in death were her parents, two brothers and one sister.

Surviving are her two sons: Stuart (Christine) Smith of Huntington Beach, CA, Brad (Francy) Smith of East Peoria, one daughter, Gloria (Ray) Dalberg of Washington, four grandchildren: Brooke Smith, Kaitlyn (Justin) Giddens, Christopher (Meghan) Dalberg, Courtney (Zach) Wheat, and eight great-granddaughter, Mady, Everett, Thea, Josie, Iris, Hunter, Wyatt, and Lily.

Viola worked in the Cafeteria at Central Junior High for several years and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in East Peoria.

Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no public services at this time. Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria is in charge of arrangements.
