William Richard Reay

William was born February 13, 1943 in Peoria the son of John and Golda (Marth ) Reay. He married Carol Moletti in Hanna City on February 5, 1967.

He is survived by his wife of forty-seven years; three daughters, Crystal Kinkead of Arizona, Wendy (Danny Haley) Scott of Sunnyland, Michele (Jeff) DeSmet of N. Carolina; two sons, William (Jackie) Reay Jr. of Kentucky, and Anthony (Wendy) Reay of East Peoria; sixteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Smith of Creve Coeur, and Sandra Gulick of Peoria; three brothers, John Reay of Creve Coeur, Charles (Dorothy) Reay of Camp Grove, and James (Pat) Reay of East Peoria.

William was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, three brothers, one grandson, and one great-grandson.

He was the owner/operator of WR Reay Blacktopping until his retirement in 2001.

William was a veteran of the Vietnam War and a lifetime member of Vietnam Veterans of Illinois, Amvets Post 169, VFW Creve Coeur Post 4835.

He was a member of Bradley Epworth United Methodist Church.

Funeral Services will be at 5:00 p.m. Friday May 16, 2014 at Remmert Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Pastor Tom Eckhardt will officiate.

Cremation rites will be accorded.

Burial of ashes will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude, Easter Seals, Vietnam Veterans of Illinois, or donor’s choice.
